Conveyor belts ensure the reliable, hygienic and gentle transport of products in the chocolate industry, from raw material processing to moulding and packaging. They must not only be food-compliant and easy to clean, but must also be able to cope with temperature differences and greasy environments without any problems.
In a modern chocolate factory, modular conveyor belts transport freshly moulded chocolate bars or, at Christmas time, chocolate Father Christmas from the moulding area through a cooling section to the packaging station. Here, food-compliant PU belts with precise belt guidance and integrated discharge modules ensure a smooth and damage-free process.
Depending on the process stage, special conveyor belt materials are used, such as modular plastic belts, PU belts or stainless steel chain straps. Thermally stable belts are required during the chilled sections, while soft belt transitions are needed to prevent breakage when transporting fresh products. This applies in particular to the delicate Father Christmases. In fully automated lines, sensors and drives control the exact positioning of the products. For example, when placing products in moulds, during quality inspection or during robot-assisted packaging.
We wish you all a wonderful Advent season. Enjoy the fine chocolate specialities that were transported on conveyor belts from Rubix Switzerland AG.
